Nucleus Healthcare is seeking a Traveling Registered Nurse – Perioperative Circulator for a 13‑week contract assignment at a leading academic health system in Oklahoma City, OK.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 – 36 hours
- Unit: OR Adult Surgery
Must have travel experience. Candidates must reside 50 miles or more outside Oklahoma City, OK. The client will only interview qualified candidates.
General DescriptionThe Perioperative Circulator is an RN who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self‑care abilities may be compromised during operative or other invasive procedures. Using clinical knowledge, judgment, and reasoning, the nurse plans and implements care to address physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient undergoing an operative procedure.
Essential Responsibilities- Direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care of patients in the operating room.
- Accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered within the perioperative environment using the nursing process.
- Individualizes patient care according to patient’s health status, age level, and surgery/procedure being performed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute operating room environment.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of AORN Standards.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing excellent specialized care.
- Some computer skills.

Required Education- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board-Approved Program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.
- CNOR.
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
- ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH Only).
- Minimum two (2) years Bedside Clinical Experience (Preferred).
- CNOR Preferred.
