Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Cardiac Telemetry position at a Level I trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and the ability to float between cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments.

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required — must be AHA‑issued
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

• 28‑bed cardiac telemetry units providing care for all cardiac needs, including post‑op care
• Patient population spans all ages at a Level I trauma center
• Patient‑to‑nurse ratio of 1:4‑6
• Unit is supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Required to float between cardiac telemetry and med‑surg departments
• Day shift: 06:30–19:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6‑week schedule period required
• Holiday coverage required based on departmental need
• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Responsible for implementing and monitoring patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition as appropriate
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well‑coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team
• Nurses work collaboratively in teams with PCT and unit secretary support
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment are essential
• Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
