Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) | Tulsa, OK Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Women's Services team. In this role, you will provide exceptional nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum process. Using the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and hospital policies.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient progress, and outcomes using appropriate medical terminology.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatal staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate timely patient discharge by providing appropriate education and coordinating referrals when needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, unit education, and continuing professional development.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in the applicable state.
- Zero to six (0–6) months of nursing experience required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of disease processes, patient-centered care, and clinical pathways.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and provide safe, efficient patient care.
- Detail-oriented with accurate clinical documentation skills.
- Previous Labor & Delivery or Women s Services clinical experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
