American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown position requiring a compact or OK RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

• Work in a 28-bed cardiac telemetry stepdown unit within a Level I trauma center
• Care for adult patients of all ages with cardiac needs, including post-operative care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, monitor techs, and virtual sitter monitoring
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment with up to 2 openings
• Weekend rotation required, up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required based on department needs

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Current license and primary source verification (Nursys) required within 30 days prior to start

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serve as the primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using appropriate personal protective equipment
• Nurses work in a team-based structure supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
• Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate eligibility for local candidates
