American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and a valid OK or Compact RN license.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to like units within scope based on facility needs
• Brief orientation provided when floating to other units
• Epic charting system experience required

• Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required in hand
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management required
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation required
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry experience required
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols required

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients including IV therapy, respiratory support, and cardiac monitoring
• Manage patients with conditions including CVA, dysrhythmias, and renal failure
• Perform wound care and administer blood products as needed
• Utilize rapid response/code teams when necessary
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Former staff members must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
