American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and prior travel experience.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- General ED serving combined adult/pediatric population
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Epic charting system used
- Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs
- Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required in hand
- NRP certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred (less experience may be considered)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and trauma presentations
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Experience applying splints and managing orthopedic trauma
- Navy scrub color required
- Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological cases
- Receive brief orientation when floating to other units
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
