OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Aerospace Inspector to join our Quality team. This role is critical to ensuring aircraft components and assemblies comply with FAA/EASA regulations, AS9100 standards, and internal quality requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on inspection experience, strong technical documentation skills, and thrives in a fast-paced aerospace environment focused on safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming, in-process, and final parts and assemblies
- Verify tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and related tools
- Ensure components meet FAA regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality standards
- Review and verify quality documentation including work orders, Certificates of Conformance, inspection records, and travelers
- Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records in compliance with FAA and AS9100 requirements
- Identify, document, and report nonconformances; support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Perform calibration checks and basic calibration activities as required
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits (FAA, AS9100)
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or aerospace-related training preferred
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or FAA repair station inspection
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations (Part 145), AS9100, and aerospace quality systems
- Proficient with precision measuring tools and mechanical inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience with CMM inspection and Zeiss Calypso software
- Knowledge of calibration systems, special processes, or non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Familiarity with EASA requirements
- Experience working in a regulated, audit-driven environment
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
- IPC, NADCAP, or NDT Level II Certification
