Job Purpose

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and control activities to ensure products and processes meet the established company, customer, and regulatory standards. This role leads and develops a team of quality inspectors and technicians, supports manufacturing operations, and drives continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Quality Manager and production teams.

Job Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise, lead, schedule, and train quality control inspectors.
  • Mentor and coach QC staff on inspection methods, testing procedures, safety requirements, and documentation practices.
  • Ensure team adherence to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Quality Control & Compliance
  • Inspect and test raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Perform routine “floor checks” to confirm procedures are followed and measuring equipment is properly calibrated.
  • Place nonconforming material on hold as needed and document issues within the NCR system.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection results, defect data, corrective actions, and customer complaints.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Troubleshoot production and quality issues and participate in cross‑functional teams to identify root causes.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with Manufacturing and other departments.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements to enhance product reliability and reduce defects.
  • Review and analyze production records, test results, and quality trends in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
  • Communicate quality findings, recommendations, and performance metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with applicable quality systems such as ISO, Six Sigma, or other industry standards.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Strong technical knowledge of quality control methods, tools, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • High attention to detail for accurate inspections, documentation, and reporting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership ability to supervise, train, and motivate a quality team.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of quality control or quality assurance experience; prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or other industry‑related quality certifications are preferred but not required.
