Software Quality Tester

Position Overview:

The Software Quality Tester supports the software testing lifecycle by preparing and executing test cases, documenting test results, and reporting issues. The role works closely with senior QA analysts, developers, and project managers to ensure software quality and performance. Responsibilities include identifying defects, verifying fixes, and maintaining overall product quality.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in developing and executing test plans and cases for software applications through black box testing.
  • Identify, document, and report defects and issues.
  • Collaborate with senior testers and developers to replicate issues and verify resolutions.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on testing activities.
  • Conduct positive and negative functional, regression, and performance testing as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities and outcomes.
  • Communicate with validators to identify and reproduce issues.
  • Work independently on small, well‑defined tasks without supervision.
Required Qualifications
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Basic knowledge of testing tools and techniques.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • General product knowledge and interest in the marine industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in software development or testing role.
  • Basic knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Basic knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit).
  • Basic knowledge of testing tools (e.g., Test Rail, Test Link, JIRA).
  • Basic knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs consistently.
  • Able to operate multiple types of watercraft safely.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or at various heights.

The anticipated pay range is $39,0000 - $53,300 annually; compensation decisions depend on qualifications and business needs. The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401(k) with up to 4% match, Health Savings Account with company contribution, well-being program, and product purchase discounts.
