QA/QC Inspector – Process Equipment & Pressure Vessels

Pay:
Based on Experience (BOE) $35-$40

QA/QC Inspector – Must-Have Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of QA/QC inspection experience in industrial fabrication, pressure vessels, process equipment, or oil and gas manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of welded fabrication and inspection practices
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and engineering specifications
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, and material traceability requirements
  • Experience coordinating hydrotesting and non-destructive examination (NDE)
  • Strong documentation, recordkeeping, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
QA/QC Inspector – Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector to oversee quality assurance and quality control activities during the fabrication of custom-engineered process equipment. This position is responsible for inspecting pressure vessels, fired heaters, process skids, structural steel, piping systems, and welded assemblies to ensure compliance with industry codes, customer specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary quality representative between engineering, production, project management, customers, and third-party inspectors while helping deliver high-quality products on time.

Inspection

& Quality Assurance
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of pressure vessels, fired heaters, process skids, structural steel, piping systems, and welded assemblies
  • Review engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, welding procedures, inspection test plans, and customer specifications
  • Verify material traceability, material test reports, heat numbers, and positive material identification when required
  • Conduct dimensional inspections to verify compliance with drawings and tolerances
  • Inspect hydrostatic, pneumatic, pressure, and leak testing activities
Welding & NDE Coordination
  • Verify welding activities comply with approved welding procedures and welder qualifications
  • Coordinate and witness non‑destructive examination, including radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections
  • Coordinate inspections with customer representatives, authorized inspectors, and third‑party inspection agencies
  • Assist production teams in resolving quality concerns while maintaining code compliance
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain inspection reports, nonconformance reports, punch lists, and quality documentation
  • Prepare manufacturing record books, turnover packages, and customer documentation
  • Initiate and track corrective actions for quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, National Board, and customer requirements
  • Support internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives
QA/QC Inspector – Additional Qualifications
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred
  • ASNT Level II or III certification in VT, MT, PT, UT, or RT preferred
  • National Board Inspector Commission is a plus
  • Experience with fired heaters, combustion systems, thermal oxidizers, heat transfer equipment, or custom‑engineered process equipment preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to producing quality work
  • Comfortable working in both fabrication shop and office environments
  • Customer‑focused with a collaborative approach to solving manufacturing challenges
