Research Analyst, Modalities & Drug Design Concepts

Drug Hunter is a knowledge platform for industry R&D innovators turning molecules into medicines. The Drug Hunter research team distills the science behind emerging drugs and technologies into concise but scientifically rich, searchable reports. Subscribers include leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and top-tier investors.

The Research Analyst-Modalities and Drug Design Concepts will help expand Drug Hunter content by creating reviews on modalities and emerging concepts in drug design. This role requires scientific expertise, understanding of industry trends, and exceptional communication skills to distill complex information into engaging resources for industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Researches and interprets primary scientific sources (peer-reviewed journals, FDA/government docs, expert interviews) and communicates this information with scientific rigor and accuracy.
  • Translates complex drug discovery and design concepts into clear, engaging content tailored to diverse audiences and aligned with publishing goals and industry needs.
  • Stays current on medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and cutting-edge drug discovery trends in pharma and biotech, proposing new scientific content and initiatives.
  • Reviews and fact-checks content from contributors, fostering constructive feedback and collaboration within the editorial team.
  • Prepares tables, figures, and illustrations to enhance written content and visualize complex ideas.
  • Contributes to a positive culture aligned with the company’s mission and values, prioritizing facts, clarity, helpfulness, teamwork, and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Strong track record of well-researched and well-presented articles on topics for audiences in the life sciences.
  • Advanced degree (PhD, and/or post-doc) in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, or a closely related discipline with 2+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to pick up new fields quickly and work with agility in a growth environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences, plus decision-making, leadership, and analytical skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and maintain strong organizational skills.
