Sales Representative, Business Development
Guardian's Group Benefits Distribution team is seeking a Premier Market Sales Representative who will be responsible for discovering, developing and maintaining benefits brokerage relationships that result in the ongoing sales and retention of Guardian's Group Benefit products. The Premier Market Sales Representative will focus primarily on groups between 100 - 1,999 lives. Success will be determined based on the ability to attain high levels of production through broker development and internal relationships.
This role will report to the Market Leader within the assigned territory.
- Market, position, and sell Guardian’s entire Group Benefits portfolio products and technology solutions to designated brokers (Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Absence, Supplemental Health).
- Support the general wellbeing of broker and client relationships for development and growth of Guardian sales and client retention.
- Understand territory dynamics to build, develop and maintain broker relationships and grow the book of business while representing Guardian’s vision to inspire well‑being.
- Be accountable for consistently achieving or exceeding personal sales production expectations by understanding products and implementing tactical sales strategies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to examine market trends and stay ahead of consumer demands.
- Represent Guardian by acting as a market leader, sharing thought leadership, and maintaining strong community relationships.
- Identify, recommend, and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to increase sales of product offerings.
- Achieve the required industry licensing within 90 days of hire and maintain the license through continuing education.
- A BS, BA degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 4 years group insurance sales experience or a combination of Guardian work experience, education, and/or related extracurricular activities.
- Experience and knowledge of relevant industry products and processes (Worksite, LTD, Dental products, complex absence, online enrollment, experience rating, dental network analysis).
- Collaborative team player with ability to build rapport in person and virtually.
- Exercise sound judgment and integrity in a changing, matrixed, fast‑paced environment.
- Exude confidence, positivity, and proactivity.
- Act with accountability to deliver on commitments with speed and quality.
- Ideal candidate based in Oklahoma; applicants in Dallas, TX area also considered.
- Up to 60% travel within the territory.
$40,000. The salary reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location. It will be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, and abilities. In addition to salary, this role may be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
