About the roleAs a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, while acting as Halter’s on-the-ground representative.
Frequent travel within the East/Tulsa Corridor region of Oklahoma is required.
What your day could look like- Prospecting New Business: Drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, meet with livestock associations, and build your new business pipeline through outbound lead generation. Field inbound leads in a timely manner.
- In-Field Sales: Engage customers on horseback, in side‑by‑side vehicles, or at coffee sites, discussing value and benefits of Halter. Offer on‑site demonstrations.
- Expanding Existing Opportunities: Identify and pursue upsell opportunities within existing accounts with limited cattle collaring.
- Hitting Sales Targets: Manage pipeline, qualify leads, and close deals while planning for future opportunities.
- Customer Account Management: Maintain ongoing relationships, provide support, and address challenges after sale. Ensure smooth hand‑off to onboarding and deployment teams.
- Territory Ownership: Own all aspects of the territory, meeting stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels and building lasting relationships.
- Customer Onboarding: Own end‑to‑end onboarding, ensuring smooth transition from sales to implementation across teams.
- Field Learnings & Feedback: Gather customer feedback in the territory and advocate for customer needs to product teams.
- Collaborating with Support Teams: Resolve customer issues promptly, escalating when necessary and ensuring full support.
- Attending Industry Events: Generate leads and deepen relationships at industry and company events.
- Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Partner with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process.
- Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results‑driven, motivated, adaptable, and proactive in high‑stakes environments.
- Ranching / Cattle
Experience:
Knowledge of ranching or cattle operations and industry challenges. - Sales & Customer Success Expertise: History of creating new business, negotiating value‑based sales, and building lasting customer relationships.
- Territory Management
Experience:
Experience managing a large territory with balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally in agriculture or technology. - Problem Solving & Collaboration ability: Resourceful, quick‑thinking, and able to work well with cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel frequently within your territory.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in customer‑facing roles within ag‑tech.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
