Metal Building Industries (MBI) specializes in the design, supply, and installation of complex Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) for the commercial construction market. Through our innovative 3D-native design workflow, we deliver projects faster, with greater coordination, and at a higher level of quality than traditional approaches.

We're expanding our footprint across Oklahoma, North Texas, Northwest Arkansas, Southeast Missouri, and other growth markets. We're looking for an experienced sales professional who can help drive that growth by developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and securing profitable commercial construction projects.

About the Role

The Outside Sales Manager serves as MBI's primary representative to owners, developers, architects, engineers, and general contractors. This individual contributor role is highly visible, customer-facing role focused on market growth, relationship development, and revenue generation. You'll work closely with estimating, engineering, marketing, project management, and executive leadership teams to develop opportunities and win work.

What You'll DoDevelop New Business
  • Identify and pursue commercial construction opportunities across current and emerging markets
  • Generate invitations to bid and build a strong opportunity pipeline
  • Expand existing customer relationships and develop new accounts
  • Increase MBI’s visibility through networking, industry events, and relationship-building activities
Build Strategic Relationships
  • Develop relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, and general contractors
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the business development process
  • Conduct Lunch-and-Learn presentations and educational meetings
  • Represent MBI at industry events, associations, and networking functions
Drive Project Pursuits
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through contract award
  • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to develop winning pursuit strategies
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Lead customer discussions and support proposal development
Manage Pipeline & Market Intelligence
  • Maintain accurate CRM data and opportunity records
  • Manage forecasts, pipeline activity, and key sales metrics
  • Monitor market activity, industry trends, and competitor activity
  • Provide market intelligence and growth insights to leadership
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Travel throughout MBI’s operating and growth markets is required. While travel typically averages 40-60%, actual travel may vary significantly week-to-week based on project pursuits and business development priorities, including occasional overnight stays
  • Experience in outside sales, business development, account management, or territory sales within commercial construction
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and winning commercial construction projects
  • Experience building relationships with architects, developers, owners, engineers, and general contractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
