Overview
TRC is seeking a Project Archaeologist for our Environmental Sector, reporting to our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice in Oklahoma. This person will work on large‑scale and small‑scale projects in the region, with additional work in other regions possible. The role requires frequent travel and a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence.
Responsibilities- Direct all types of archaeological projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi‑year, multi‑state projects.
- Handle planning, logistics, and supervision of fieldwork for projects assigned and author reports under the direction of the Project Manager/Principal Investigator.
- Promote TRC safety and quality standards, policies, and procedures and ensure field employees comply.
- Ensure that all work and data collected are accurate, organized, and of high quality.
- Abide by company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Master’s degree in anthropology or archaeology with at least two years of experience managing field work and report writing is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel, often with little advance notice.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and committed to client service and technical excellence.
- Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work well both on a team and individually.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
- Commitment to safety.
- Experience in multiple aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including survey, shovel testing, monitoring, and data recovery, plus some supervisory experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations and environmental review processes and requirements.
- Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS units, tablets, cameras).

USD $72,488.00 – USD $85,000.00 per year.
