Environmental Scientist

As an Environmental Scientist I, you will work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects related to water resources, transportation, and development projects.

• Assist with environmental permits, NEPA documentation, biological assessments, and other environmental compliance documentation.
• Work under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientists and water resource engineers.
• Assist in field work associated with collecting natural resource data.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Preference given to local candidates.

• Complete field site visits and record natural resource data in conditions that include sloped terrain, thick vegetation, and inclement weather.
• Lift up to 20 pounds without assistance.
• Effectively communicate in person, by telephone, and email.
• Effectively work in minimally supervised and/or unsupervised environments.
• Work hours other than 8 to 5, which may include weekends and/or night shifts.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Operate a motor vehicle day or night.
• Required travel for project work based on the needs of the business.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field.
• Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• MS Office experience.
