Specimen Management 2nd Shift

6pm to 2:30am Monday to Friday; weekends and holidays as scheduled. 2nd shift differential.

• Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications.
• Communicate with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital.

• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• Associates degree or higher.
• 6 months or more of experience in customer service.

• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Well-versed in applications like Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and willingness to learn new applications.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including:

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
