Position: Residential Advisor-4

Residential Advisor-4

Compensation: $40,000.00

Monitor and supervise 35 to 45 youth (ages 17‑21) in the Oklahoma Job Challenge Program (Sooner Job Challenge Program).

Typical Functions
  • Monitors and supervises 35‑45 youth under administrative supervision.
  • Maintains accountability of assigned platoon at all times.
  • Maintains discipline, security, and safety within a quasi‑military atmosphere.
  • Develops a team‑oriented attitude in the Associates.
  • Acts as mentor/role model for cadets during the residential phase.
  • Conducts first‑line counseling and problem solving; primary instructor in Drill and Ceremony and group living skills.
  • Directs and participates in physical training.
  • Provides transportation and supervision for Associates attending vocational training.
  • Maintains supporting documentation and evaluations for Associates.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Degree not required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

Military background preferred.

Licenses and Certificates

Valid driver’s license (DL).

Physical Requirements
  • Requires long periods of standing and walking indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
  • Working in conditions of both high and low temperatures.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to run a mile and walk extended distances.
  • Ability to perform push‑ups, side straddle hops, sit‑ups, and other physical training and fitness activities.
  • Ability to teach and perform physical training to Associates as outlined by the Youth Challenge Physical Fitness Program.
  • Ability to drive or ride in a vehicle for extended distances.
Conditions of Employment
  • Serves a 12‑month trial period.
  • Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check.
  • Contingent on passing pre‑employment drug & alcohol screening.
  • Contingent on a favorable pre‑employment physical.
  • Contingent on a favorable MMPI test.
  • T1, child‑care check security clearance (eligibility for national security positions granted only to U.S. citizens).
  • Employee will be considered essential personnel (required to work during inclement weather).
  • Available to work if called in due to an emergency.
  • Shift work and working weekends (facility open 24 hours, 7 days a week).
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • FLSA Non‑Exempt status.
  • Tobacco and vape‑free facility.
  • Contingent on continuous federal funding.
