SUMMARY: The Field Service Supervisor oversees daily filter installation operations and leads a team of technicians to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient work in the field. This role is responsible for coordinating schedules, supporting technicians with on-site needs, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The supervisor serves as the working link between field personnel and management, reinforcing procedures, safety expectations, and performance standards.
Responsibilities- Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to filter installation technicians
- Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and adherence to company standards
- Train new hires on technical procedures, safety practices, and quality expectations
- Oversee team performance, address skill gaps, and reinforce accountability
- Promote a positive, teamwork-driven environment that prioritizes safety and efficiency
- Coordinate and manage all day-to-day filter installation jobs
- Verify technicians have accurate job details, materials, tools, and PPE before dispatch
- Assist with complex or high-priority installations as needed
- Inspect completed work to ensure filters are installed properly, sealed correctly, and compliant with manufacturer standards
- Ensure proper disposal procedures for used filters and materials
- Assign daily routes and installation tasks based on workload and technician strengths
- Adjust schedules for urgent requests, site access changes, or unexpected field issues
- Communicate job expectations, timelines, and special instructions to the team
- Maintain job flow efficiency to meet deadlines and customer requirements
- Serve as a primary contact for customer questions, scheduling updates, and follow-ups
- Ensure customers receive clear communication regarding installation timing, service completion, and any site findings
- Address customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues as needed
- Review service reports, installation notes, and time entries for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure all filter changes are logged, documented, and verified according to company standards
- Monitor inventory levels of filters, tools, and installation supplies; coordinate replenishment as needed
- Support compliance with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and company procedures
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with HVAC training and certification is preferred. Minimum requirement of High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proven leadership experience or strong lead-technician background.
- Ability to guide and motivate a team in a field-service environment.
- Strong communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with physical demands of installation work when assisting in the field.
- Competent in documenting work orders, using mobile service apps, and reading job instructions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Able to sit and occasionally to stand and walk for duration of shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have above average reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in writing and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications:
Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, plant environments, and varying outdoor weather conditions. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
