Responsibilities- Provide supervision and coordination of workers (both skilled and unskilled) engaged in various types of construction projects, such as highway structures, clearing right‑of‑way, pile driving, preparing subgrade, laying road surface, installing curb, installing underground utilities, traffic control, concrete paving of streets and related lime and dirt work, etc.
- Schedule work to meet timetables in a safe manner, per the plans and specifications, and to meet estimated cost.
- Maintain a good working relationship with inspectors, developers, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
- Supervise hourly trade personnel and crew, manage equipment and material resources.
- Logistics planning and execution of project work plans.
- Monitor work crews productively and efficiently to meet daily cost objectives.
- Provide training, purchasing of unincorporated materials, tools, and supplies.
- Ensure quality of work and adherence to safety regulations.
- Plan and execute work plans, prepare detailed construction plans for each day and a weekly plan.
- Manage scheduling of QA/QC inspections and ensure compliance with owner acceptance requirements.
- Inspect work in progress, identify and correct deviations from tolerances and standards.
- Foster a motivating working environment, oversee training and development of subordinates, and recommend personnel actions.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Conduct Toolbox and JHA safety meetings and enforce all safety regulations.
- Investigate alternative work methods and materials to improve efficiency and quality.
- Maintain daily reports of field construction activities and ensure proper equipment usage.
- Interpret and disseminate Equal Employment Opportunity policy during safety meetings.
- Record and report hours on Foreman’s Daily Control, and fill out the control correctly with employee‑owners’ hours, job number, cost codes, and quantities.
- Other duties as assigned.
The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications- Certifications/Licenses: NCCER and DL.
- 5+ years of industrial and supervisory experience preferred.
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
