Job Summary:
Under supervision, perform technical and specialized work of a skilled nature in connection with electrical systems, electronics, and instrument and control systems.
- Locate and repair defects in control systems involving electrical, solid state electronic, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components.
- Inspect, adjust, repair and calibrate electrical relays.
- Install, calibrate and maintain single-element control systems and multiple-element control systems.
- Inspect the various component parts of instrument and control systems; make adjustments or replacements to remedy faults in those not functioning properly.
- Perform required maintenance and installation on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
- Perform necessary functions to place in or remove from service, instrument and control systems undergoing study, tests or adjustments.
- Troubleshoot PLC/SLC Logic Control Systems, Force Contacts, locate hardware I/O addresses. Build basic programming logic.
- Dismantle, overhaul, reassemble and install electrical equipment. Work with low voltage through 6.9kv.
- Compile and record data relating to tests and investigations and prepare graphs, curves and reports.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Controls, or associated degree.
- Equivalent combination of related education and work experience in electrical systems, electronics, and/or instrumentation controls may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of two years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including post‑high school vocational training or a four–to–five year electrical journeyman apprenticeship.
- Must have performed the duties of, and maintained all the qualifications of ICE Technician III and be able to pass an examination and/or demonstration as determined by the Company to advance to ICE TechnicianII.
- Successful completion of the Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) test is required.
- Must have sufficient experience in the use of power plant instrumentation to have a working knowledge of process control.
- Must have the working knowledge and skill needed to calibrate and adjust plant instruments and controls, and be capable of detecting and making repairs to complex control systems.
- Must be able to read, interpret and work from moderately complex prints and specifications.
- Must have a working knowledge of equipment and clearance procedures, and the rules, safety practices and procedures applicable to the work.
- Must obtain and maintain all necessary certifications and licenses as required.
- Must be available for callout.
- Climb ladders & stairs a number of times each day.
- Use fine dexterity to move switches & controls to precise locations.
- Detect color on alarms, equipment & other devices.
- Hear announcements on the Plant PA system, and hear abnormal sounds of plant equipment.
- Communicate plant information by phone, in person or by radio.
- Work on heights, grating, platforms and catwalks.
- Exert up to 50 lbs of pressure to manually turn off valves.
- Able to stand or walk continuously for up to 8 hours.
- Must reside within daily commuting distance of the assigned work location in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Compensation Grade: U070‑944
Compensation Range: $35.43 – $53.05 per hour
