1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm
Job Summary
A Structural Welder is responsible for welding and fabricating metal structures used in construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects. This role involves working with blueprints, operating welding equipment, and ensuring all welds meet structural and safety standards.
Structural WelderKey Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Perform structural welding using processes such as MIG, Flux-Core
- Fabricate and assemble steel and other metal components
- Weld beams, columns, girders, and other structural elements
- Inspect welds to ensure strength, alignment, and compliance with specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces
- Repair and reinforce existing metal structures
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA standards
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper functionality
Skills & Qualifications
- WELD TEST: 3G test and weld with flux and mig
- Proven experience as a structural welder or similar role
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG, Flux-Core)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality welds
- Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy materials (typically up to 50–75 lbs)
- Comfortable standing for long periods and working in awkward positions
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or outdoors
- Tolerance for exposure to heat, fumes, and loud environments
- Fabrication shops, or industrial facilities
- Exposure to weather conditions, noise, and heavy equipment
- Welding certification (e.g., AWS Certified Welder)
- Experience with structural steel projects
- Knowledge of blueprint symbols and welding codes (AWS, ASME)
- Experience operating cranes or forklifts
