DescriptionThe technician is responsible for conducting diagnostic testing for repairs, locating utilities, and installing traffic control for work zones. The role also includes repair, maintenance, and installation of traffic signals, highway lighting systems, school zone flashers, and trail crossing signals.
Duties and Responsibilities- On call for service calls and dispatch.
- Civil defense siren maintenance.
- On call emergency response (e.g., storm damage, vehicle damage to equipment, etc.) and after‑hours trouble calls.
- Assist any issues with signal boxes.
- Schedule and dispatch signal tech small jobs day and night.
- Analyze and solve any issues technicians cannot handle.
- Provide signal information to Project Managers and Vice President.
- Equipment for repairs.
Skills and Abilities
- Deep knowledge of traffic signal operations.
- IMSA certified Level II or verifiable experience.
- Extreme professionalism and customer service.
- Able to work under pressure and multitask.
- Knowledgeable about manufacturers of controllers.
- Fast paced and stressful.
- Inside – tech room.
- Outside – hot/cold.
- Frequent driving.
