Fleet Maintenance Technician
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician. A Fleet Maintenance Technician diagnoses, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and operational readiness through tasks like engine tune-ups, brake/tire services, electrical/hydraulic system fixes, welding, and detailed record-keeping, often specializing in diesel or gasoline engines and requiring strong mechanical aptitude.
What you will be doing:
- Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and HVAC systems. - Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and tune-ups to prevent breakdowns. - Specialized Services:
Perform welding, fabrication, AC servicing, and electrical system repairs. - Record Keeping:
Create and maintain detailed work orders, repair logs, parts usage, and maintenance schedules. - Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards, perform road tests, and adhere to shop safety protocols. - Field Service:
Respond to service calls to perform on-site repairs. - Mechanical:
Engine overhauls, brake service, clutch replacement, steering/suspension work, fuel system repairs. - Electrical:
Diagnose and repair wiring, starters, generators, and computer-controlled systems. - Tire Services:
Mount, balance, and repair tires on various equipment. - Shop Maintenance:
Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
The skills and experience you need:
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, often with vocational training in automotive or diesel technology. - Certifications:
ASE certifications are often preferred. - Experience:
Experience with automotive/diesel repair, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. - Licenses:
Valid driver's license
