Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional service and hospitality to all guests while efficiently preparing and serving beverages in accordance with facility standards and Oklahoma state alcohol regulations. This role plays a key part in the overall guest experience at Ascension St. John Sportsplex by maintaining a professional and engaging presence during events. The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast‑paced, community‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, mix, and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages in accordance with facility recipes and state laws.
  • Provide a friendly, welcoming experience to all guests, maintaining high service standards.
  • Check identification to verify guests meet legal drinking age requirements.
  • Manage cash and credit card transactions accurately using point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area before, during, and after events.
  • Restock bar inventory and supplies as needed.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and alcohol service guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, event staff, and fellow team members to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of bar service areas for events, tournaments, and private functions.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Previous bartending or beverage service experience preferred.
  • Valid Oklahoma Alcohol Beverage Laws Enforcement (ABLE) certification or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and customer service–oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and operate POS systems accurately.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

    Dependable, team‑oriented, and able to perform in a fast‑paced environment.
