(SSR) provides free legal representation to pregnant women, mothers, and women who are primary caregivers who have been brought into the criminal legal and family policing systems. Founded in North Tulsa, SSR delivers client-centered, innovative, and holistic legal advocacy. Job Description

SSR seeks a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our team as a Community Resource Specialist. This role supports attorneys and client advocates in providing holistic, client-centered services to women and their families. The ideal candidate is passionate about connecting individuals to the resources they need, values collaborative work, and is committed to social justice.

Community Resource Specialists are key to ensuring our clients can access the services necessary to support their legal and personal goals. This role involves conducting client assessments, identifying needs, and helping clients navigate social service systems. Community Resource Specialists collaborate closely with attorneys and advocates to align support strategies with the client’s legal representation.

Community Resource Specialists are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key point people from different social service and community resource offices. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented person interested in developing a comprehensive and critical understanding of the social services field in Tulsa and able to respond quickly to a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in social service and resource agencies and organizations.
  • Interview clients to assess their needs and goals.
  • Assist clients with accessing resources, including completing applications, making phone calls, and preparing supporting documents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal resource data.
  • Document client interactions and progress clearly and thoroughly.
  • Provide insight, perspective, and training on resources and services for client teams.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to translate complex systems and processes into accessible, actionable steps for clients.

  • Strong time management skills in balancing deadlines set by various sources including clients, colleagues, and external systems.

  • Flexibility in responding to shifting needs and priorities.
  • Critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and empathetic listening skills.
  • Passion for criminal justice reform, and social and racial justice.
Preferred Qualities (Not Required)
  • Experience working directly with community-based organizations or social service providers.
  • Familiarity with public benefits programs (e.g., housing, food assistance, Medicaid).
Compensation

$50,000 annually (salary non-exempt), plus medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, and a 401(k) with a 4% employer contribution. Generous PTO and a supportive supervision structure are provided to support sustainability in this work.
