- 1:30 p.m., 44 weeks/year (24 hours/week)
The Family Resources Associate serves as a primary resource for Little Light House families and staff by connecting families with community services, coordinating support services, and fostering collaborative relationships with community partners. This position works closely with staff to identify family needs, develop appropriate support plans, and ensure families have access to resources that promote the well-being and success of their children.
The Family Resources Associate serves as a liaison between Little Light House and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS), Child Protective Services (CPS), and other community organizations while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This individual is self-motivated, highly organized, and able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities while working both independently and collaboratively.
The Family Resources Associate understands and embraces that they are part of Little Light House, a Christian ministry with Biblical core values whose mission is to glorify God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families, and communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as the primary liaison between Little Light House staff and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Act as a liaison between Little Light House and Child Protective Services (CPS) and other community organizations.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies and organizations that provide services and resources to families.
- Maintain and regularly update family resource lists, ensuring families receive current and appropriate information.
- Coordinate with applicable departments to maintain comprehensive resource information.
- Develop and implement a system for identifying families in need of additional support and resources.
- Train staff on the process for identifying concerns, making referrals, and reporting family needs.
- Assess family needs and connect families with appropriate community resources and support services.
- Provide annual staff training regarding DHS/CPS reporting requirements, mandated reporting responsibilities, and confidentiality standards.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive family information and exercising sound judgment in all interactions.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and collaborate with the transdisciplinary team to support student and family success.
- Build positive relationships with families, staff, community partners, interns, and visitors while representing Little Light House professionally.
- Reports directly to the Tulsa Campus Director.
- Works collaboratively with Little Light House's transdisciplinary team, program staff, and community partners to coordinate family support services.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a team member.
- Commitment to supporting the Little Light House transdisciplinary approach to special education.
- Welcoming, service-oriented attitude toward families, guests, student interns, volunteers, and community partners.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 40 pounds across a room.
