As a Sr. Batch Developer at Gainwell, you will work on healthcare administration products used by millions of patients. You will use your programming and analytical skills to drive the development of these products and support their ongoing success.
Your role in our mission- Interface with the technical team and client to gather specifications and design solutions.
- Code, test, debug, implement, and document moderately complex programs.
- Understand requirements and scope, oversee technical work on projects.
- Assist developers with estimating and designing technical solutions.
- Align technical solutions with existing systems while meeting account standards and quality expectations.
- Design, develop, and maintain data processing applications that meet customer business needs.
- Write, test, and implement computer programs in both development and maintenance modes.
- Define system requirements and priorities with customers, ensuring that daily needs are met.
- Develop system and programming specifications.
- Research and resolve application production problems.
- Monitor application performance and perform runtime improvement functions.
- Prepare system documentation.
- Participate in code review.
- 6+ years of experience in applications development and batch programming with Linux, C, Shell Scripting, and SQL (Oracle/SQL Server).
- Healthcare Financial IT systems experience is highly desired.
- Experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for program design, creation, and testing.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients.
- Fully remote opportunity—work must occur within the continental United States (47 contiguous states plus Alaska). Hawaii and U.S. territories are not approved.
- Work during core business hours between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time (CST), unless otherwise coordinated.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation supporting a 24x7 batch production environment (oncall for one week every 3 weeks).
- Provide off‑hours support for night and weekend patching, deployments, and incident response.
- Perform and support vulnerability remediation efforts in partnership with security teams.
- Active participation in virtual collaboration, including video conference with camera on for all internal and client meetings.
- Opportunities to travel through your work (0‑10 %).
The pay range for this position is $70,000–$90,000 per year, depending on geographic region, internal equity, knowledge, skills, and experience.
