Position: Software Engineer I

We're partnering with a leading engineering and simulation technology organization seeking a Software Engineer I to join its growing development team in Tulsa. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer looking to work on sophisticated simulation and training systems while gaining hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a passion for software development, and a desire to contribute to mission-critical systems in a collaborative engineering environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with systems, software, and project engineers to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Participate in software requirements definition, decomposition, and design activities.
  • Analyze software and hardware interface requirements.
  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications for simulation and training systems.
  • Write software in C, C++, Fortran
    , and other programming languages as required.
  • Work in Linux-based development environments
    .
  • Perform software integration, implementation, verification, and acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Support installation, acceptance testing, and deployment of systems at customer locations.
  • Work closely with software, hardware, manufacturing, and program management teams throughout project execution.
  • Prepare technical documentation, specifications, reports, source code, and test procedures.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout project development.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience or academic exposure to software design, development, debugging, and testing.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with C/C++ development.
  • Exposure to Python, C#, Fortran, Ada
    , or other programming languages.
  • Experience using Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git or Subversion
    .
  • Understanding of networking concepts and system integration.
  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience involving simulation, modeling, or engineering software development.
  • Experience with software development environments and tools.

Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 25% travel

  • Travel throughout the United States with occasional international travel.

  • Travel may range from several days to multiple weeks and may occasionally include weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport may be required.
Work Schedule
  • Standard Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Flexibility to support project deadlines and customer requirements as needed.
  • Occasional overtime, weekend, holiday, or alternate-shift work may be required.
Security Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance
    .
