Job Summary
The Supervisor – Scheduling, Trucking is responsible for leading daily truck scheduling and dispatch operations, overseeing personnel responsible for coordinating the movement of crude oil across production sites, terminals, and storage assets. This role provides operational oversight and team leadership to support safe, efficient, and reliable transportation, while maintaining compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
The Supervisor collaborates closely with commercial, operations, measurement, accounting, and producers to manage inventory levels, trucking capacity, and delivery schedules, while supporting the objectives of the broader Crude Oil Commercial organization and promoting a collaborative culture aligned with ONEOK’s Core Values.
The role is responsible for advancing process improvements, supporting system and dispatch optimization, ensuring delivery commitments are met in a safe and cost‑effective manner, and maintaining operational continuity through effective coordination of team coverage and cross‑training to support consistent performance and service.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Supervise, train and direct employees responsible for truck movement requests, dispatch, and load coordination activities to ensure safe, accurate, and timely execution.
- Develop and maintain departmental procedures, coordinate team coverage (including PTO) and manage employee hiring processes in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Manage employee performance by communicating expectations, addressing concerns, and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Coordinate daily trucking schedules, dispatch activities, and load assignments to optimize truck utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure timely crude oil movement between lease sites, terminals and delivery points.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage inventory levels, trucking capacity, and delivery priorities; coordinate scheduling and balancing positions across pipelines, terminals and storage facilities; and provide feedback to commercial representatives regarding transportation constraints and optimization opportunities.
- Partner with other internal departments and stakeholders on current and future projects to ensure trucking logistics, capacity planning and inventory impacts are effectively addressed.
- Serve as a key point of contact with carriers, dispatchers, producers, terminal operators, customers and internal stakeholders regarding load scheduling, billing, operational issues and growth projects.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies and applicable transportation, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Support emergency response readiness, including development of response and coverage plans.
- Monitor and optimize trucking performance metrics, including utilization, turnaround time, demurrage and transportation costs.
- Compile, prepare, review and analyze information and reports including transportation schedules and dispatch records, carrier performance and utilization metrics, inventory levels, billing inputs, miscellaneous charges and cost analysis, measurement discrepancies and volume variances, terminal receipts and delivery confirmations, ticketing and load transaction records and month‑end closing processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business administration, accounting, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job‑related knowledge or experience.
- Experience and thorough knowledge of nomination and scheduling of pipeline products, terminals or storage facilities.
- Experience analyzing and resolving issues and/or questions concerning scheduling, nominations, balancing and allocations.
- Experience reading and interpreting applicable contracts, agreements, reports, statements, invoices, confirmations, correspondence, tariffs, government regulations, industry standards, customer notifications and company policies and procedures.
