Description
This position is responsible for maintaining County roadways through the operation of large vehicles and public works equipment.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary function of this position is to work with a crew leader placing hot asphalt mix from a Pro Patch Truck in order to fill asphalt pavement defects in various locations.
Will perform the duties of the crew leader in their absence.
QualificationsRequires any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and two years of experience in the operation or maintenance of construction equipment, mechanical devices, or heavy trucks.
Possession of a valid Florida Class B CDL with an airbrake endorsement and acceptable driving record is required.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move up to 40 lbs.
Supplemental InformationMust have the ability to follow oral or written instructions and work with minimal technical supervision. Must possess sufficient physical stamina to perform assigned duties. This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation 49
CFR‑Parts 40 and/or 655.
Work Hours and Days:
Monday – Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
All County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed. This may include temporarily being assigned to work and performing duties outside of the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.
