Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct all flight operations assigned in accordance with company and FAA regulations, and procedures.
- Cover individual flight planning, releases, flight monitoring, weather, and operational advisory services.
- Review and incorporate any pertinent Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) restrictions, and/or information on the flight plan.
- Ensure current MEL/CDL information for all OAI aircraft are provided to Dispatchers every shift change or after any significant update; keep CDL visible in the dispatch facility.
- Upon reporting for duty, check Dispatch Must Read File for new memoranda that may affect policy or flight planning; acknowledge receipt.
- Monitor fuel burn based on position reports; notify flight crew if onboard fuel is less than required to complete the flight without reserve.
- Conduct careful checks, monitor, and analyze weather conditions over regular and alternate routes, changes in navigation facilities, field conditions, inoperative facilities, and communications.
- After departure, monitor en‑route weather, destination and alternate airport weather, and NOTAMS for changes during the flight.
- Remain on duty until each dispatched airplane has completed its flight, or until relieved by another licensed dispatcher or the Director of Operations.
- Maintain a Daily Log (OPS‑146) of the shift, recording all flight numbers under control, delays, cancellations, reroutings, and operational actions.
- In emergencies, ascertain the pilot’s decision, record it on the log; if communication fails, declare an emergency and act accordingly.
- When deciding on flight movements, consider safety, passenger comfort, crew and equipment positioning, maintenance needs, ferry mileage, and avoidance of extensive bad weather.
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate.
- Strong organizational, multi‑tasking and communication skills (written and oral).
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Windows.
- Pass a 10‑year background/criminal check and pre‑employment drug screen.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- High School diploma or GED (required); some college preferred.
- All dispatchers/flight followers must have their FAA certificates on person while on duty.
- Flight Dispatcher initial training, recurrent training, and maintenance of qualifications as specified in the FAA‑approved Omni Air International program.

- Handle multiple activities simultaneously.
- Work in a time‑sensitive environment; manage stress from deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or information.
- Remain calm and react quickly in all emergency situations.
