Ecowaste Solutions is a fast-growing company in a stable, essential industry, and we're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to lead our diesel maintenance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of diesel technicians and mechanics who keep our garbage trucks running safely and on schedule. You'll own the full lifecycle of fleet maintenance across your assigned area, from preventive maintenance programs to shop staffing, cost control, and safety standards.

- Oversee all fleet maintenance and repair operations for primary and secondary equipment within the assigned area.
- Ensure garbage trucks are safe, reliable, and available to meet daily operational demands.
- Monitor repair requests and evaluate progress to ensure work is prioritized and sequenced properly.
- Conduct fleet evaluations to verify maintenance standards are consistently met.
- Ensure maintenance shops are adequately staffed and diesel technicians are properly trained.
- Drive cost control efforts and manage fleet budgets in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Ensure vehicle management systems are effectively utilized and up to date.
- Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready maintenance shops.
- Select, coach, train, discipline, and evaluate maintenance department personnel.
- Attend and contribute to driver and safety meetings to promote morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with DOT and all applicable safety regulations.
- Submit required reports accurately and on time.
- Assist in the annual budget process as required.
- Minimum 7-10 years of diesel maintenance experience, preferably in the waste, transportation, or heavy equipment industry.
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience leading mechanics or diesel technicians.
- Strong expertise in diesel vehicles, heavy equipment, and fleet safety.
- Valid CDL-B driver's license required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Required to handle objects weighing more than 30 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, and occupational risks including cuts, burns, and chemical exposure.
- Full time hours, with additional hours as needed.
