Position: Warehouse I

American Tire Distributors is looking for a Warehouse I employee to assist in picking, staging, and loading orders, manage inventory, and operate powered industrial vehicles.

Position Description

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour. Responsibilities include prioritizing and picking product to fill orders, staging product for loading, physically moving and lifting product weighing up to 150 pounds, organizing the warehouse stock, assisting in daily closing, compiling reports of damaged/outdated stock, over/under shipments, returns to vendors, periodic inventory counts, operating forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and maintaining operator license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment for loading and unloading, data entry of product numbers using hand‑held devices.
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as paperwork handling and warehouse closing procedures.
  • Compile and submit reports on damaged, outdated stock, over/under shipments, and returns to vendors.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks, handling products up to approximately 50 pounds, and manage tires and heavier items through rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers) safely and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Organize warehouse stock by product line, ensure adequate space for overflow.
  • Perform routine facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks, including cleaning parking lots, loading docks, and surrounding areas; maintain clear floors and tidy bathrooms.
  • Prioritize and pick materials for order fulfillment, staging them for loading.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing products regarding quantity, size, and type; report inventory shortages to management and assist in periodic counts.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Physical Demands Category:
Warehouse.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste, and/or smell. The employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Handling of tires greater than approximately 50 pounds may require rolling, destacking, or team lifting.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment:
Exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; noise level usually moderate.

Travel required:

5% of the time.
