Material Handler Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, counting, organizing, and distributing materials throughout the facility to support production and customer orders. This position ensures inventory accuracy by verifying incoming materials and staging required materials for jobs in designated areas. The Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining material flow, inventory control and warehouse organization. This will be at our Tulsa Facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies from vendors and carriers.
- Verify quantities and inspect materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
- Perform accurate material counts using hand-counting methods and scale-counting equipment as required.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Label, identify and store materials in designated inventory locations.
- Pull and stage materials for production jobs according to work orders and schedules.
- Ensure materials are staged in designated areas and are available when needed for production.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through manual and/or computerized systems.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as authorized.
- Keep warehouse and staging areas organized, clean and safe.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Assist with shipping, packaging, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, inventory, receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately count materials by hand and through scale-counting methods.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
