Position: Tumwater - Campus Supervisor 26-27

CAMPUS SUPERVISOR – Bush Middle School (Continuing)

Schedule/Hours per day: 6 hrs day, 192 days

The position will remain open until filled. Tumwater School District reserves the right to make a hiring decision at any time after the initial screening after 4 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. It is in the applicant's best interest to submit materials as soon as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED, Valid Washington State Driver's license. State/FBI background clearance required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reduce disruptive student behavior in and around the high school campus by using interventions, education and referrals
  • Be a positive role model and student advocate; be visible and accessible while developing and promoting positive relationships with youth, parents, and staff
  • Assist in investigating incidents of misconduct and/or property damage. Assist building administrators in conducting searches; follow up on theft reports
  • Assist Attendance Office in screening attendance patterns and alerting administration to issues therein
  • Enforce parking rules and regulations per TSD and school guidelines
  • Patrol school premises, including halls, locker rooms, and parking lots, maintaining high visibility in the assigned areas and as requested by school administration
  • Take all student concerns seriously and follow up
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings, activities and training; participate on appropriate school committees
  • Provide the administration with insight and information negative student group activity, truancy, and behavior that may compromise the safety and security of our staff and students
  • Assist in promoting cultural awareness by understanding that similarities and differences exist between different cultures and use sensitivity in effective communication with members of diverse cultural groups.
  • Assist school administration in the implementation of social emotional learning (SEL) by using SEL guiding principles to empower students
  • Use restorative practice principles to help students own what he/she did, make it right for those hurt or affected, and involve the community in helping both the victim and the offender
  • Respond to conflicts as they occur in the building with de-escalation support as needed. Maintain a calming, restorative space for students to de-escalate and reflect following conflicts
  • Hold current first aid/CPR certification
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions
PHYSICAL FACTORS:
  • Be able to walk the entire campus frequently throughout the shift
  • Be able to be outside in various weather conditions throughout the year
