WSDOT is currently seeking a Construction Project Coordinator 3 to manage multiple facility improvement and preservation projects from planning and scoping through design, construction, and first-year operations. You will serve as the primary project team leader, coordinating agency staff, consultants, contractors, and technical disciplines to deliver projects that support safe, reliable, and functional workplaces and public spaces.

In this role, you will manage project scope, schedule, and budget while navigating applicable regulations, policies, and contractual requirements. Your work will help ensure projects are effectively planned, delivered, and completed while supporting WSDOT’s commitment to customer service, employee needs, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Manage multiple concurrent facility projects through planning, scoping, design, construction, and first-year operations while following applicable regulations, WSDOT policies, and project management practices.
• Develop and update project budgets and schedules, monitor spending and critical path tasks, identify changes, and recommend corrective actions to maintain approved project outcomes.
• Lead project scoping and coordinate architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other specialty disciplines throughout the design process.
• Lead and manage project teams through construction, including contractor submittals, requests for information, contract change orders, field observations, status meetings, specialty inspections, and quality assurance activities.
• Monitor construction progress relative to scope, budget, and schedule and prepare written reports and analysis related to project status.
• Provide engineering or architectural guidance and advice regarding standards, solutions, construction materials, and practices.
• Act as project manager on occasional building or site development projects, providing standard engineering or architectural design services, including plans and specification preparation.
• Perform constructability reviews for other projects within the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the agency mission.

• Alternative Contracting: Understands alternative public works contracting methods available to public agencies in Washington.
• Solution Analysis: Identifies and analyzes alternative solutions throughout project phases.
• Project Controls: Develops, maintains, and monitors budgets and schedules for multiple facility projects.
• Decision-Making: Makes appropriate and timely decisions to maintain project schedules and budgets.
