We are seeking a CRISC Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team on a temporary basis. This temporary position offers up to 20 hours per week with an anticipated assignment length of six months, with the possibility of extension based on workload needs.

Purpose Statement

The job of CRISC Senior Business Systems Analyst is done for the purpose of providing school district clients consultation, analysis implementation, training, and support in the best practice use of information management (SMS, ERP and Decision) system applications; ensuring that client information management needs are met and in compliance with related policies, practices, and regulations; acting as a liaison with OSPI for CEDARS, staffing and financial reporting requirements.

This is an experienced team member who specializes in business and application knowledge of either student or business finance information.

Essential Functions
  • Administers district database system (e.g. security setup, policy and standards, account creations, modifications and deletions, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring optimal database usability.
  • Analyzes a wide variety of information sources for the purpose of identifying discrepancies, issues, trends, or recommendations ensuring data integrity in data management practices.
  • Collaborates with a variety of groups and individuals (e.g. other ISC team members, departments, staff teams from individual school districts, SWIPC, etc.) for the purpose of sharing relevant information, creatively solving problems, making recommendations and identifying opportunities to enhance services.
  • Contributes to a variety of state-side groups and committees (e.g. WSIPC network, data centers, state agencies, professional organizations, user conferences, etc.) for the purpose of representing Capital Region ESD 113 in information management leadership and keeping informed of evolving statutory requirements, regulations, and system functionality.
  • Coordinates installation, maintenance, and other operational technical support with WSIPC or other software partners responsible for installing hardware and software systems for the purpose of providing up-to-date, functional, and highly performing applications to clients.
  • Creates training curricula (e.g. tutorials, workshops, labs, ongoing learning opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that systemic and related regulatory training needs of district clients are met.
  • Defines software application requirements and may champion its development (e.g. use cases, features, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing the functionality of the information management systems.
  • Designs, builds, and tests new or modified modules, features, imports/exports, and reports of the Skyward applications (e.g. screens, custom data fields, application behavior, automated workflows, HTML code, report templates, data mapping for imports, etc.) for the purpose of customizing the application's functionality to meet individual school district practices.
  • Develops a variety of systems tools (e.g. complex data sets, etc.) for the purpose of meeting the analysis and reporting needs of the districts.
  • Facilitates agreement or other resolution to completing district data management needs for the purpose of ensuring consistent or best practice regional and state data management practices.
  • Fulfills contracted business services (e.g. reports, budget, year-end, human resource, payroll and accounts payable, etc.) for the purpose of managing operations on behalf of the school district.
  • Mentors and cross-trains other team members for the purpose of ensuring high standards of services and ongoing team member support.
  • Monitors a variety of processes and procedures (e.g. district data transmission, district client service needs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the effectiveness of district applications and systems while complying with state and federal regulations.
  • Performs a variety of high impact or mission critical business processes authorized by a district client (e.g. entering, updating, executing, reporting and/or communicating information, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Plans a variety of projects and programs (e.g. instructional programs, project schedules, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring district programs and projects are successful and district standards are met.
  • Researches a variety of related topics (e.g. discrepancies, future trends, new regulations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring timeliness and accuracy in district data practices for adherence to policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
