Maintenance Mechanic 3 (Non-Permanent)
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a non‑permanent Maintenance Mechanic 3 to support the State Materials Laboratory, a multi‑building, 60,000+ square foot complex housing five independent testing laboratories and more than 3,000 pieces of specialized equipment.
This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing advanced journey‑level maintenance, repair, and construction activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of laboratory facilities and systems. You will maintain building systems and infrastructure, procure and manage materials and supplies, and provide technical oversight and direction to maintenance contractors.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced mechanical and facilities maintenance expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, knowledge of building systems and equipment, and the capacity to communicate effectively and work independently in a highly technical environment.
