Agency & DivisionThe Property Management Division (PMD) is responsible for comprehensive facilities management, including capital and operating budget processes. The PMD falls within the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau and consists of the Facilities, Fleet, and Supply Sections.
Position OverviewElectronics Technician 4 – Tumwater, WA. This traveling position may require travel up to 80% of the year.
Duties- Provide expert insight into the installation and maintenance of building and security systems, facilitating repairs and supporting new installations for all levels of WSP personnel.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of security cameras, bullpen security systems, and locksmithing—installing door hardware, electrified door handles, deadbolts, night latches, electric strikes, door closers, hinges, re‑building door handles, padlocks, SFIC installation/removal, lock picking, key cutting, stamping, video decoders, monitors, wall mounts, perimeter alarms, motion sensors, card readers, and NVRs.
- Carry out facility maintenance as needed, including electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, painting, locksmithing, concrete, and other construction trades.
- Provide input to planning staff on future project scopes, consult with construction staff on installation details, and may direct construction crews and vendors on site.
- Support other facilities and departments as requested by the supervisor.
- Read blueprints and plans, inspect projects to ensure compliance with WSP regulations and local/state codes; determine scope of work, schedule of values, materials needed, and provide cost estimates.
- Install, maintain, document, and audit systems and facilities statewide.
- Manage access control devices and handle key and hardware responsibilities.
- Conduct administrative duties related to system maintenance.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in construction or building related trades such as HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, concrete/masonry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, or building security (locksmithing, CCTV, card access, intrusion alarms) to provide maintenance on buildings and grounds throughout the state.
- Possess an EL06 license with 2+ years of security experience (locksmithing, CCTV, card access, intrusion alarms, or other building related trades).
- Must possess a valid Washington state driver license.
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work with small hand tools and power tools above the head for extended periods of time.
