Delivery helper

Position Summary

The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, back up, prepare and restore the job site, prepare the truck for the following day, and maintain the truck and equipment.

• Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT, for the safety of all personnel.
• Perform pre‑trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure accuracy of orders.
• Safely unload product and deliver to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
• Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck.
• Navigate routes to the job site.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
• Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials such as drywall and joint compound.

• Remain standing approximately 90% of the time.
• Continuously move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto the job site.
• Position oneself to unload and load materials from flatbeds or booms.
• Frequently move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. while unloading and loading flatbeds.
• Communicate with management and coworkers; exchange accurate information.
• Work outside while making deliveries.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $19.00 to $20.91 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non‑financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance‑based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
