Position Summary
The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and deliver all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.
Duties & Responsibilities- Inspect truck/trailer for defects and ensure safe operation. Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites. Deliver materials to assigned areas while prioritizing personal and others’ safety.
- Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Report all accidents involving the driver or company equipment, lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload, and provide excellent customer service and a professional attitude.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Minimum Class B License;
Class A strongly preferred. - Clear three-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and core competencies such as trust, integrity, servant leadership, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Ability to work independently and on a team, lead, execute and delegate as needed, and collaborate to get the job done.
- Self-management, initiative, proactive driving of results.
- Professional verbal and written communication with coworkers and customers.
- Remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle about 40% of the time.
- Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
- Operate commercial and boom vehicle, unloading flatbed, delivering materials, and positioning self for unloading.
- Judge distance while delivering materials or operating boom.
- Communicate accurately with management and coworkers.
- Work outside in varied conditions while making deliveries.
- Prioritize job sites and deadlines.
- Manage stress based on customer deadlines.
- Multitask effectively.
- Receive information and directions accurately.
- Communicate solutions promptly when problems occur.
- Demonstrate sound judgment.
The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime, performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance, and travel reimbursement per company policy.
