Assistant Construction Engineer
The employee will serve as the Assistant Construction Engineer at the District 1 Headquarters in Tupelo, Mississippi, and will be accountable for overseeing professional individual contributor engineers and may also supervise vocational individual contributor engineering technicians. This position is typically the first level of supervision over professional individual contributor engineers, with a primary focus on supervision, resource management, and accountability for the leadership of staff.
The incumbent plans and directs the work of the team's allocated resources and ensures that work is performed in accordance with overall management objectives. The employee reviews and reports on work progress and outcomes, serves as a technical resource to the team within the relevant engineering discipline, and acts as a project manager when designated for that role.
Success in this role requires a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with others while fostering a positive, productive team environment. The candidate should demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to achieving organizational goals through effective teamwork and communication. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, Licensure and 6-7 years of experience as an Engineer.
