JOB SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for performing MRI procedures in compliance with physicians' orders and department policies, which includes patient screening, explanation of exams, and IV injections for contrast studies. This position requires strong leadership skills to cross‑train other technologists and manage daily schedules efficiently, excellent human‑relations skills to interact with patients, families, departments, and physicians, and problem‑solving abilities to ensure smooth patient flow and adherence to policies and procedures.
JOBFUNCTIONS
- Perform MRI procedures according to physicians' orders and department policies.
- Screening pre‑MRI for metals and implanted devices.
- Explain each exam to patient and family.
- Start IV injections for contrast studies.
- Ensure all policies and procedures set by the radiology department.
- Ensure the best quality exam is performed.
- Associate's Degree required
- ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ARRT certification. Upon hire. Required
- Less than one year. Six months MRI experience or willingness to train. Required

- Ability to perform MRI procedures unassisted.
- Cross‑train other technologists and complete the daily schedule in a reasonable time.
- Interact with patients and families, other departments, and physicians to enhance the radiology department and hospital.
