What we are looking for:
Grammer is looking for a Launch Material Planner to join our location in Tupelo, MS. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment. This individual will have an opportunity to make lasting and positive changes in our team!
- Maintain direct contact with the customer to meet the requirements and specifications of the logistics, organize the information and expose those involved.
- Check the customer’s demand against the capacity of the line to determine possible risks in compliance with the delivery plan.
- Manage supply of materials and supplies
- Work together with the planners, traffic and import logistics, finance, to quote the logistics chain of a new product.
- Follow the imports of raw material, from the supplier to the plant.
- Quote and negotiate better rates with national and international transportation providers.
- Experience in automotive industry.
- Knowledge of imports, exports, customs law, NAFTA, and transportation market.
- Knowledge of SAP system.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers of goods and services.
- Leadership and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships.
- Computer skills and experience utilizing excel.
- Degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain or related field.
- 2-4 years of previous experience as planner
- Experience working with automotive customers
- Experience with launching new product lines
