Production and Inventory Control Manager

Drive manufacturing excellence by managing the generation and execution of production plans from Master Schedule development through final assembly. You'll lead breakthrough strategies to improve utilization, increase throughput and inventory turns, and reduce cycle time while continuously optimizing our systems, methods, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Planning & Execution

* Develop and manage manufacturing plans for multi-plant operations using Supply Chain Management Scheduling Systems

* Review Master Schedules for constraints and sequencing issues in fabrication and assembly

* Control shop floor execution, prioritizing work orders and adjusting queue times, move times, and lead times to maximize throughput

* Maintain focus on material utilization, process flow, cycle time, and inventory management

Strategic Operations Management

* Partner in developing shop floor production strategies

* Conduct daily capacity planning reviews with fabrication and assembly management

* Analyze Load to Capacity Reports to identify and resolve potential constraints

* Recommend and coordinate overtime usage as needed

* Evaluate manufacturing plan effectiveness against scheduled completion goals

Inventory & Systems Management

* Oversee component, assembled component WIP, and finished goods inventories

* Coordinate physical inventories and maintain accurate inventory systems

* Drive continuous improvement of P&IC computer systems and departmental processes

Team Leadership

* Lead and manage Shop Floor Planning and Production Planning teams

* Make employment decisions including hiring, promotions, performance management, and development

* Coach and mentor team members through regular performance reviews and training

* Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, personnel, methods, and materials

* Facilitate employee growth through team meetings, individual coaching, and development opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

* Work closely with all functional areas to achieve profit and growth objectives

* Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures through regular audits

* Communicate company and departmental goals effectively

Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor Degree in Operations Management or related field or equivalent work experience, Required

* APICS CPIM certification, preferred

Experience:

* 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory management or related area, Required

* Supervisory/Management experience, Required

* Proven experience in production planning and inventory control management

* Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management Scheduling Systems

* Demonstrated leadership and team management experience

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
