We, at Elite Comfort Solutions LLC, are searching for a Production Supervisor within our operation steam to help support our bedding team. As a Production Supervisor you will have the opportunity to supervise and coordinate the activities of the production and operation workers in multiple departments. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring all departments communicate effectively about orders, monitoring workflow daily, and coordinating any variations from the production schedules. The team you will be working with is collaborative, innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

So,

what will you be doing as a Production Supervisor?
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels so that activities are performed effectively and workloads are balanced.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors on daily schedule, workflow, and personnel issues.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work‑related problems. Review work throughout the process and at completion to ensure it has been performed properly.
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
  • Inform designated employees or departments of loaded items and problems encountered.
  • Prepare and maintain work records and reports.
  • Fill in for any area, employee or department as needed.
  • Process orders to communicate material flow, and follow up on rush, sample or shortage orders.
  • Check all equipment, tools and PPE to ensure they are in proper and safe condition. Ensure that workers use personal protective equipment, comply with all safety policies and employ safe work practices.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources Department and Plant Management to document infractions and discipline employees for poor performance, safety violations or other policy breaches, as necessary.
  • Report changes in production that affect essential job duties, minimum requirements and safety hazards to the HR Department to keep job descriptions and JSAs current.
  • Check quality of material entering departments and monitor status of various orders.
  • Show operators how styles are to be fabricated and assist in training new employees in those operations.
  • Expedite necessary orders through the plant.
  • Assist in ensuring all raw materials are ordered as needed and relay any necessary information to plant personnel.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • 3‑5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Awareness of principles and processes for providing customer service, including meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to understand complicated written instructions, memoranda and orders.
  • Regular, skilled use of word processors and programs and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and techniques for maximizing error detection and correction.
  • General knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, usage, repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from managers, customers, sales force and others.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to apply general mathematics to necessary operations.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation.
  • Ability to extract and compile data from written sources, individuals or multiple work orders.
