The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities within a food manufacturing environment. This position involves a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities**:**
* ** Equipment Maintenance:
*** Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery, including conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, and refrigeration systems.
* Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets production requirements.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
* Respond promptly and provide emergency unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during the manufacturing process to prevent disruptions to production.
* ** Facility Maintenance:
*** Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and food safety regulations.
* Monitor and repair facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to support a safe and comfortable working environment.
* ** Safety and Compliance:
*** Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe work practices.
* Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.
* ** Documentation and Reporting:
*** Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inspections, and inventory management.
* Document equipment repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance procedures to track equipment history and performance.
* ** Collaboration and Communication:
*** Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
* Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and safety personnel, to address maintenance issues and implement solutions.
* Provide technical assistance and training to production staff on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
* Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
** Minimum

Job Requirements:

** Education/Certifications and

Experience:

* High school diploma or GED, required.
* Technical school education, preferred.
* 5 years’ related experience in industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
* 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting/repairs on PLC, relay logic and logic controllers, 480v, 220v, 110v AC single/three phase and DC systems.
* Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, drives, and industrial sensors.
* Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical and control systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies as needed.
* Ability to perform mechanical repairs that include hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
