Requirements for Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Possess a current RN license
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Authorized to work in the US
Registered Nurse Supervisor (Every Other Weekend) DUTIES
  • Responsible for assessment of resident needs, development and implementation of a comprehensive care plan; consults with residents' physician in planning resident care. Periodically review and update comprehensive care plan.
  • Work with interdisciplinary team members in developing a discharge plan for individual residents and assist in achieving discharge planning.
  • Communicate and act as a liaison among residents, family, physicians, and staff.
  • Conduct resident rounds to assess and/or supervise nursing care, assess condition of residents, and maintain a safe, clean, comfortable environment.
  • Audit staff nurses to ensure that all resident care systems and processes are followed per policy.
  • Review all closed charts of expired residents and ensure appropriate documentation by nursing during the last 48 hours; discharge orders by physicians are enclosed (to contain how and where discharge - i.e. to funeral home via stretcher). Review discharge summaries of all residents.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of Care Plans to ensure they are interdisciplinary and updated by the Charge Nurse as changes occur.
  • SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
  • Maintain a current, valid license as a nurse in good standing in the state of Mississippi.
  • Possess a minimum one (1) year of experience in nursing service administration. Additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.
  • Possess strong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.
  • Possess good communication skills and be patient and self-disciplined.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills.
