Requirements for Registered Nurse (RN)

Possess a current RN license
At least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED
Authorized to work in the US

Registered Nurse Supervisor (Every Other Weekend) DUTIES

Responsible for assessment of resident needs, development and implementation of a comprehensive care plan; consults with residents' physician in planning resident care. Periodically review and update comprehensive care plan.

Work with interdisciplinary team members in developing a discharge plan for individual residents and assist in achieving discharge planning.

Communicate and act as a liaison among residents, family, physicians, and staff.

Conduct resident rounds to assess and/or supervise nursing care, assess condition of residents, and maintain a safe, clean, comfortable environment.

Audit staff nurses to ensure that all resident care systems and processes are followed per policy.

Review all closed charts of expired residents and ensure appropriate documentation by nursing during the last 48 hours; discharge orders by physicians are enclosed (to contain how and where discharge - i.e. to funeral home via stretcher). Review discharge summaries of all residents.

Conduct periodic reviews of Care Plans to ensure they are interdisciplinary and updated by the Charge Nurse as changes occur.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Maintain a current, valid license as a nurse in good standing in the state of Mississippi.

Possess a minimum one (1) year of experience in nursing service administration. Additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.

Possess strong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.

Possess good communication skills and be patient and self-disciplined.

Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills.
