Role DescriptionThis role offers full-time or part-time equivilants, on-site Private Duty Nurse role is based in Tupelo, MS, providing pediatric in-home care to a medically fragile child. The nurse will perform ongoing assessments, administer medications and treatments as ordered, monitor vital signs, manage medical equipment, and document all care accurately. Daily responsibilities include implementing care plans, coordinating with physicians and therapists, and educating families on disease management, safety, and home care procedures.
The role also involves collaborating with the care team to adjust interventions as needed, promoting comfort and stability, and responding promptly to changes in the child’s condition.
- Candidates should possess skills and licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with current, unrestricted state nursing license.
- Candidates should possess skills in Private Duty Nursing and experience providing one-on-one care in a home or similar setting.
- Candidates should possess skills in Nursing practice, including pediatric care, patient assessment, and care plan implementation.
- Candidates should possess foundational skills in Medicine relevant to pediatric home care, including medication administration and clinical judgment.
- Additional qualifications include current CPR/BLS certification, experience with medically complex or medically fragile children, and familiarity with home medical equipment.
- Strong communication, documentation, and family education skills; ability to work independently, follow clinical protocols, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Reliable transportation to patient homes in the Tupelo, MS area and willingness to comply with all safety, infection control, and privacy standards.
